Linda Weir was born and raised in Manchester and studied art at both Manchester Metropolitan University and also Nottingham Trent University.
She has also held various teaching positions but now dedicates most of her time to the love of her life – painting St. Ives (where she now lives) and its wondrous characters.
Linda’s paintings are all about colour, pattern, form, movement and texture – she loves to achieve ‘poetic expression’ within the subject.
Capturing the characters of the quaint old fishing town and all its surroundings such as fishing boats, seagulls, cats, rooftops, churches or simply holidaymakers on the beach and, sometimes, even their dogs - her paintings and moods differ as much as the weather, light and ambiance that is always present from the different aspects of town.
Her paintings are a delight to view and own – always bringing back a smile and a memory.
