Leo McDowell RI
Leo McDowell studied Modern Languages at the universities of Manchester and Cambridge and then the History of Art at Innsbruck. He then spent a considerable amount of time in the Middle East and North Africa. Leo was strongly influenced by the time spent in places such as Turkey, Cyprus and Jordan.
His work portrays images of antiquity, timeless seascapes and Mediterranean landscapes.
Leo McDowell was made a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1985 and won the Windsor & Newton RI Award in 1990.
Leo's work has been exhibited in Europe, The United States and Japan.
